The HTC One M8 has come out to the public & the stage is set for HTC to make its comeback. The Tiwanese needs to turn its finances around and start showing a profits again and while the One M8 is quite an attractive smartphone, the question remains if HTC can take all the critical acclaim the smartphone and received and transform that into sales. This happened with HTC's previous two flagships: the One X and the One M7. HTC can showed amazing smartphones but they didn't sell because of Samsung's (little appealing) advertisments and commercials. They say if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em, and to that end HTC has reportedly hired a former Samsung marketing exec.
Paul Golden was at Samsung from 2008 till 2012, where in his roles as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Strategic Marketing he helped make the Galaxy brand as popular as it is today.
While HTC appears to be trying to keep this quiet, Golden was reportedly hired as a contractor for HTC a few weeks back, and is said to be reporting directly to Chairman Cher Wang. HTC has said before that it understands the importance of marketing, and between its recent series of videos starring high-profile actors, and this new hire, we’re optimistic that it has the resources at its disposal to really step up its promotional game. Whether it manages to do so or not is something that remains to be seen, but HTC sure seems to be giving itself the tools it needs to find success.
