The way every smartphone reveals itself to us is different. With the HTC One M8, one of the most-leaked phones in recent memory, rumours leading up to its release were dominated by hardware shots and anticipatory renders. Nowadays one of the highest-profile Androids on our radar is the LG G3, but this phone’s been telling its story in a slightly different manner, and recently its leaks have been dominated by screenshots. Sure, we’ve looked a a theory linking its hardware design to some leaked renders of LG models for Japan, and even caught that early glimpse of packaging, but it’s been screenshots leading the charge for more than the past month now. Today we pick up a nice new assortment, continuing to reveal LG’s plans for the phone’s UI.
The circular icons and solid swaths of colour depicted here seem to be part of a growing trend, popping up not just in the latest Samsung TouchWiz but in leaks from Google itself – and LG sure seems to be trying to avoid missing out.
We also get a little preview of new functionality here, and that heads-up under the weather widget is supposed to be part of it, combining real-world data with history of your usage patterns and location info in order to generate personalized advisories like that – sort of a Google Now/Cortana/Siri-like?
