TechNow: Nokia introduces its Windows Phone 8.1 running lineup for 2014.

Microsoft’s Build 2014 keynote is still underway, and we weren’t expecting any Nokia news until later in the day, but Stephen Elop has managed to surprise us by joining Microsoft on-stage and revealing the Lumia 930.
The Lumia 930 features a five-inch 1080p display, has built-in support for wireless charging, and offers a 20MP main camera with optical stabilization. The phone’s powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 SoC.
Sales of the 930 will begin this June, with a suggested price of about $600 (Rs.36,150), off-contract. Nokia will introduce the phone to markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, while the US will have to make do with the still-very-similar Lumia Icon.
Next we get to see the Lumia 630 and 635 as the new low-cost WP options. Nokia confirms the phones’ 4.5-inch displays, and mentions availability in five colors, changeable via swappable shell.
The 630 will be available as a 3G single-SIM or 3G dual-SIM device. The 635 is only a single-SIM handset, but it offers 4G LTE connectivity. Both are powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 SoCs.
We get a quick look at how WP8.1 handles a dual-SIM environment, either using color coding to keep calls and messages from each SIM separate, or letting you combine all that disparate information into one lump collection. You can set up per-contact preferences for which SIM you want to use when reaching out to specific people.
The 630 and 635 will be the first Lumia models to be sold running Windows Phone 8.1, with sales opening in May. Asia should get them first, followed by the Middle East, South America, and Europe. Eventually the phones will make their way to US, which should be happening sometime during July.
As for pricing, look for the single-SIM 630 to go for about $160 (Rs.9,640), the dual-SIM 630 for $170 (Rs.10,242), and the LTE-equipped 635 for $190 (Rs.11,448).
Also, T-Mobile is getting an early start to showing some love for these new Lumias, announcing its intention to carry the Lumia 635 once the phone hits US shores.
